Luxury transport from Herne Bay is not only about the car. It is a car that is yours alone for the journey, a driver who arrives when agreed, and a fare settled before you set off, whether the trip is an anniversary dinner in London, a wedding, a day out with the car on hand, or a long-distance journey to a cruise ship.
This guide covers the three ways people in CT6 use it: special occasions, a car and driver by the hour or the day, and long trips to London, other UK cities and the cruise terminals.
Luxury transport from Herne Bay: what exclusive means here
Every booking is for the whole car. Nobody else is picked up on the way, the fare is fixed for the car rather than per seat, and the route is the one that suits your plans.
For most occasions the executive class is the natural choice: up to four passengers with two or three large cases. For a family party or a group of friends, the MPV takes up to six.
Special occasions
Weddings, anniversaries, proms and milestone birthdays all come down to timing. Tell us the addresses, the time you need to arrive and roughly when you expect to leave, and the pickup is planned backwards from there.
If the evening is in London, the trip out of town follows the A299 to the M2 at Brenley Corner and then into the city. A return booked for later the same night costs the same fixed fare whatever the hour; there is nothing extra for late nights, weekends or bank holidays.
A car and driver by the hour or by the day
Some plans do not fit a single journey: a day of visits in London, a garden or a country house followed by lunch somewhere else, or an event where you do not know when you will leave. For those, the car and driver can be booked by the hour or by the day, so the car goes where you direct and is there when you come out.
Give us the start time, the first address and an outline of the day. Within the booked time the driver follows your plan; if the day runs on, extra time is agreed with you.
Long-distance travel from Herne Bay
Long-distance journeys from CT6 to London, other UK cities and family visits further afield are booked like an airport transfer: the fixed fare for the car is shown before you pay and does not change with traffic, roadworks or a diversion.
Westbound trips start on the A299 and join the M2 at Brenley Corner, the same first half hour as a Gatwick or Heathrow run. If you want an extra stop on the way, to collect a relative for instance, put it on the booking; a stop added during the journey can be charged.
Herne Bay to the cruise terminals at Southampton and Dover
Cruise departures leave little room for error, because the ship sails whether or not you are on it. The pickup time is worked out from the embarkation deadline, the port traffic and the roads, so you reach the terminal with time in hand. At Southampton the car takes you to the entrance of the right terminal, whether that is the Mayflower, Ocean, Queen Elizabeth II or City Cruise Terminal; Dover has two cruise terminals of its own.
Cruise luggage is the main reason to choose the car carefully. Two people packing for a fortnight at sea can fill an estate, which takes three or four large cases; a family or two couples sailing together usually need the MPV.
When you book, give the port, the ship, the terminal if you know it and the latest time you may check in. For the trip home, give the date and time the ship is due back so the collection is planned around it.
Choosing the car for the occasion
The car sets the tone of the day as much as the route does, so it is worth a moment's thought when you book.
